I have a huge collection of the girl's work ( drawings, paitings, cards, etc.) they've done at home, church, storytime and bible study. I ususally put them on the fridge or we hang them on the doors. I keep thinking I will put them together into a scrapbook of some kind but I've not done it and think I probably never will. Some have even.... made it to the trash. i really do hate to get rid of anything that they have made.
What to do?
Yesterday we went to the post office and got an extra book of stamps and decided we would send these treasures off to encourage someone. Grandma Ottenhoff and Grandpa VanWyke are 94 and will be getting a card. Papa and GiGi and Poppie and Nee Nee will get one as will other loved ones in our family. It's my goal to send a few out every week since the stack keeps continuing to grow. I'd love to do it daily. We'll see. There is always someone that needs to be encouraged so today we will pray who we can bless and make smile. I know how I feel when I get a handwritten card or something special in the mail. It really does bring me joy.
Hebrews 3:13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness
Acts 15:32 Judas and Silas, who themselves were prophets, said much to encourage and strengthen the brothers.
Hebrews 10:25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
