The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. Ps 116:5
Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the Lord has been good to you. Ps 116:7
I was pushed back and about to fall, but the Lord helped me. The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation. Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: "The Lord's right hand has done mighty things! The Lord's right hand is lifted high; the Lord's right hand has done mighty things! Ps 118:13-16
I want to be sure that I am praising God for WHO HE IS not for the things He does/is doing/will do for me. My circumstances will always change. I can not ever put my hope in them. People will let us down all the time. God never will. I have been placing my trust in circumstances and people lately. But God says not to.
It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. Ps 118:8
Can I say that He has been good to me even if nothing good happens or my wants/desires are never met? Is my salvation enough? Just how great is the Lord to me? My desire this moment is that--
His statutes are my heritage forever; that they are the joy of my heart. My heart is set on keeping Your decrees to the very end. Psalm 119:11,12
Nothing ( not a person, a circumstance, a want or desire, a fear, NOTHING!!!) should be greater than God.
Since almost every verse in Psalm 119 mentions God's Word, and I need MORE OF HIM so that I CAN BE CHANGED, I decided to spend time there. Join me if you want. Then we can encourage one another. Aren't you glad we are growing in the Lord? :)
