It's Wisdom Wednesday. Join us by telling how God's Word is changing you. You can get all the info at Michelle's blog as4me.net or on my favorites.
I've not really spent quality time in the Word today. I sure can tell. However, I did get a quick minute when the girls were napping. I thought about reading my bible several times through out the day and just didn't feel like it. So when I finally did, a few Scriptures came to mind.
Matthew 4:4 Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."
Ephesians 6:17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Something I thought was: I do know Scripture, (BUT not nearly enough of it) and I do know and obey the Bible (BUT not always). These two BUTS seem small because I am still "doing good" sort of, but not really. This is not a good place to be. This position is causing me follow my own ways, the enemy's, or the world's. If I know and obey the Bible, then that helps me follow His desires totally. I also need to lift my Sword, His Word so much more during the daily battles, during my spiritual combat.. I have such a long way to go, but I trust the Lord to take me there in His strength and by His grace.
I've got to remember this so I can turn from the temptation to go my own way. Rather, I must run to Him right away. Am I really living on EVERY WORD that comes from the mouth of God? I must not be becuase I see how easy it is to please myself. Lord, please save me from myself!!!!
