My Portion

Psalm 119:33-35, 57-60
33 Teach me, O LORD, to follow your decrees;
then I will keep them to the end.
34 Give me understanding, and I will keep your law
and obey it with all my heart.
35 Direct me in the path of your commands,
for there I find delight.
57 You are my portion, O LORD;
I have promised to obey your words.
58 I have sought your face with all my heart;
be gracious to me according to your promise.
59 I have considered my ways
and have turned my steps to your statutes.
60 I will hasten and not delay
to obey your commands.

These verses give me insight are a followup to what I wrote yesterday. We are in spiritual combat every moment. The only way to walk in God's ways consistently and hating my own sin is to have a love for His Word above anything else. I must DELIGHT in Him and DELIGHT in obeying Him as I seek His face with ALL my heart. I must love His paths more than my own therefore turning from them so I can apply His Truth to my life.
Psalm 119:103,104
103 How sweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth!
104 I gain understanding from your precepts;
therefore I hate every wrong path.

Lord, make me a woman of Your Word in my thoughts, words, and deeds so You will be my portion. I joyfully agree with the Psalmist; this is my heart cry above all:
111 Your statutes are my heritage forever;
they are the joy of my heart.
112 My heart is set on keeping your decrees
to the very end.
