Waiting Well

Isn't waiting hard? I have been thinking about waiting alot lately since it's something we are constantly teaching Ella Grace, not just to wait, but HOW to wait. Is she waiting WELL? We ask her things like "How are you waiting? Are you waiting with a smile and patiently? Are you waiting with a frown and impatiently? We may also ask her, "How does God like you to wait?" She will respond, "With a happy heart." I am glad she knows! :)

It's such a good reminder for me to evaluate my times of waiting. How am I waiting? Am I doing it well? Or am I just down-right impatient and want what I want when I want it? Am I waiting and teaching my kids to wait according to God's Word or just waiting for the thing we want at the moment? I will be watching and praying about how I am waiting today and reading this verse at breakfast.

Psalm 130:5-6
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His Word I put my hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.

I like this verse. I like the metaphor of an employee waiting for the shift change-- with eagerness, anticipating rest. :)

I'd like to wait on the Lord in the same way, too. Praying for you!
