Today at breakfast we read James 1:19 and Ella Grace begged me to keep reading it over and over. I love when she loves God's Word! I added some hand motions to it to help her remember it and even Miriam who is 9 months was trying it too. They really enjoyed it. Ella Grace has been acting out in anger and seems to have a very quick temper. This causes her to say unkind things or scream, like when Miriam grabs a toy from her. We have also noticed she is slow to obey right away. I think it's because she is not quick to hear our commands. Selective hearing, maybe? Anyway, we have been explaining that she must obey right away, not on her time. Boy, that's a great reminder for me when I don't want to obey immediately either. Hits home. All of these issues can be summed up in these verses. We've had a successful morning so far. I am thankful that His Word is transforming our hearts. Thank You, Lord.
My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry...
I plan on teaching verse 20 tomorrow .. for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.

ooh! I might go over that one tomorrow too! I had a thought last night about your idea to write down in your calendar journal what you are going to teach that day. What a wonderful idea because as a former teacher in a school, you know that you wouldn't want to start your day with your students no having your lesson plans ready. It is the same concept with parenting. What a great way to be ~intentional~ about teaching them God's word.
