Stooping

Today as we were reading our History lesson, a blurb from our reading particularly stuck out- It's possible that God used it to remind me of the perfect example of humility in my sweet Savior, Jesus. He is the only One who  lived and breathed this quality in everything He did, every encounter He experienced. It's about someone famous who goes down in History.

As said about Benjamin Franklin,

“As he was leaving the minister’s house, he had to go under a large beam. “Stoop! Stoop!” cried out the minister; but Franklin did not understand him and ran into the beam with his head. “Ah”, said his friend, as the minister saw Franklin rubbing his head, “You are young, and have the world before you; Stoop as you go through it and you will miss many hard thumps.”Franklin always said this sensible advice, which was knocked into his head that day, was of great use in his life. He learned how to stoop to conquer. This means you can often get what you want more quickly if you approach another person humbly and kindly, rather than if you stand tall and proud.”

From (The Story of the U.S. My Father’s World, p 21):

Make Your mark on my life. Keep chiseling away at me, Lord.. Please make Your name so famous in me that every encounter I have with you will keep me stooping and  becoming humble and kind as You are.  I am not there but I delight in joining You as You take me on this road to that place.
