Gratitude or Grumbling

Gratitude and grumbling seem like complete opposites of one another. Lately there has been lots of grumbling and sour attitudes. So today the girls started out the day stating that they were not going to grumble at all and only have hearts of gratitude. This lasted a quick few minutes. I remembered that this is not the end, this is the training, the growing, the learning, the re-learning so we kept moving through the day. Thankful for Grace.

Evidently, I was the one who needed the training today. I was filling a cereal container when the whole thing flipped out onto the ground. Kashi was everywhere. "AHHHHHH! OHHHH NOOOOO!" shot  from my mouth. I had just swept the floor and was in the middle of putting groceries in a hurry... just wanting to be done. Grumbling? Yes. Grateful, no.

Three sweet cherubs ran to the scene. "MOM! Oh, no! Again? Here, let me help." One ran off to get the dust buster.

"Wait, I'll get the big one." One ran to the closet.

"Mom, it's ok. You still have all this... and even this. ( pointing to the pile on the floor) Mom, you can be grateful. Don't grumble. We will help."

Once again as He sweetly continues to do-- Uses my children to help me see.  Lord, make me a woman filled with gratitude and a spirit who will chose gratefulness over grumbling. So thankful for these three little ones so willing to help a grumbling Mama. :)
