It's been awhile since I have written anything. I suppose that is what moving does- throws everything upside down for awhile. So, here we are in Columbus Mississippi. It's going to be home for a few years and it's just the perfect place for us. A charming little Southern town filled with the friendliest people you have ever met. It's simple and quaint. Quite a change from DC. We are back on a base where the planes are flying and revelry is heard at 7 am, the anthem plays at 5:00 and tapps is heard at 9 pm-- I can't help but feel patriotic! We have moved to a neighborhood filled with bunches of kids and lemonade stands while the parents chat in the driveways on after dinner walks. Of all the places in the world to go, God placed us here and we are grateful.
As we embark on a new life here and a new school year, a few verses have refreshed my soul since we have moved in and are ones I am holding on to and pondering in my heart today. I need to remind myself the Truth so I will not fret or worry about the unknowns in a new place.
You do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead, you ought to say," If the Lord wills, we shall live to do this or that." James 4:14-15
Lord, let me be used by You how You desire!
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Lord, Keep me thankful and always rejoicing!
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
Lord, I'm holding on to YOU~! Thank You for always being near and never far.
