re·fine/riˈfīn/
Verb:
1.Remove impurities or unwanted elements from (a substance)
2.Improve (something) by making small changes, in particular make (an idea, theory, or method) more subtle and accurate.
1 Peter 1:6-8
6 In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy..
It hurts to be refined. But I know I can welcome it when it is given to me straight from the Refiner's Hand.. lovingly leading and guiding me, holding on to Him, thanking Him that this affliction is for my good. For His glory. This builds trust and relationship with the One Who is at work getting rid of my unwanted junk and improving me to be more like Him in the process! So thankful.
Isaiah 30:21
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”
