Happy Birthday Ella Grace

Precious child,

Today you are six. What a joy you are to us. As we see you grow we see evidence of God at work in your heart. Your passionate enthusiasm for life and the world around you is contagious. We see this spark lighting up for Jesus.

Two bright spots in my days recently about this spark I want to share so I'll never let it slip away from my mind:

As your sister left for speech and was getting in the car, you yelled to her ( in the silence of the morning)," Let good roots grow! Pick out the ones that are not growing good fruit!" Your sister couldn't hear you since the window was up and wondered what you said.. so you yelled it again! I am so glad for this boldness!

When I was looking for you in your room and I could only see the top of your head from behind your bed, I was a little suspicious of what was going on down on the floor. I peeked over to see you on your spread-out blanket, next to your little chair reading your bible. You asked your sister and I to join you in prayer for your day and the words that blessed me the most were when you prayed to God that you wanted to hide His words in your heart so that you would not sin against Him. You asked him to help you shine His light and be kind to everyone. May God continue to fertilize and till the soil of your little- big heart for His kingdom.

May this enthusiasm and passion continue. You are a blessing to us beyond words. Happy Birthday, Ella Grace!
