Basket Case Days

Have ya’ll ever had a basket- case day?

Sigh.

Yep. One of those days over here in the Fleming house. One where I can’t process one single thought or focus on any one thing for more than a second. One where I am not gentle in my words and bark( I mean, yell) orders to my kids like dogs. One were my dishes have piled up since breakfast and it’s dinner time. One where my patience level is Z-E-R-O. One where I have screened calls all day because my kids are screaming louder than the jets flying over my house. One where no one has napped and the bags are so deep under my eyes that I am still drinking coffee at 3:00!

I thought about having self- pity, but I served the enemy his eviction notice and told him he had no place in my home.. and guess what? He got to walking! He is not the Victor, but I know Someone Who is. Sweet J-E-S-U-S. He is PURE VICTORY. I am His and He is mine.

I ran to my room, cried to The Lord and He sweetly reminded me that He would redeem this mess.

“Kelly, Come drink from Me. Don’t forget what you know—remember that:

"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God. (Matthew 5:1-9)

I am so poor in spirit! I am so desperate for The Holy Spirit to lead me! Have Your way, Lord! I say Yes! Yes! Yes!

I chose to cooperate with the Holy Spirit… however He does things. Whatever He uses. He WILL redeem basket-case days like these. Why? Because He’s Jesus. He has redeemed us. We are His and we are so, deeply precious in His sight.

He is our Vine. We've got to stay attached.
