Talking

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

I read in Deuteronomy this morning and was overwhelmed at all the reminders the Lord has for us to follow Him…. There are such blessings when we do. Do what is right and good in the Lord’s sight, so that it may go well with you. Deut.6:18 I was thinking through my day and praying for our events and how the Lord wants to use me today, and I was asking Him to show me how to apply these Scriptures to my day.

TALK OF ME ALL DAY LONG.

I’m always talking to the girls about the Lord and His ways, but I needed this reminder today of SPECIFIC TIMES to talk of Him- of His faithfulness, of our need for Him, of Him being glorified in all that we do……Here are some thoughts.

When we sit at home: in the kitchen, having breakfast, cleaning up, when I see them playing nicely together, when I see them arguing, helping them to problem solve, in the bathtub, when we are having lunch and dinner, as they help with laundry, as we are cleaning up all the toys…..

When we walk along the road: when we are taking walks and everyone is in the wagon, when we are playing outside or at the park, when we are driving in the car, ( or going anywhere) going to friends’ homes, walking to the library, walking to the mailbox….

When they lie down: naps, bed times, sigh… even in the middle of the night…, when I am kissing a boo-boo and mama’s lap is a comfort, when they are sick or in the middle of a melt down….

When they get up: to see such sweet faces after sleep and ready to start a brand new day is really a delight to my soul.

ALL DAY LONG IMPRESS MY COMMANDMENTS UPON THESE LITTLE ONES. YOU ARE TRAINING THEM AS I PREPARE THEIR HEARTS TO MEET ME.
