Bad to Worse- Better to Best

It's been one of those mornings. Whining, fighting, selfish, tired children... impatient, selfish, tired, walking in the flesh mom. I am glad I recognized the "signs" and went to ask the Lord for wisdom in how to turn from our "day going bad" to "day going better." He reminded me that my eyes were on myself, same for my kids. What to do?

I got out art supplies and paper. We sat down and made cards, pictures, and butterflies for people we loved. We decorated everything with stickers. I read the Bible to them and we sang some Scriptures we've memorized. They asked me to read from their Bible and we talked about the stories.

Philippians 2:3-5
3Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:

Galatians5:22-23 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.


Phillipains 4:8-9 8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

We agreed to ALL ( me included!) put into practice what we know God wants us to do. We asked Him to help us keep the "others more than self" perspective today. Then we prayed and asked God to forgive us for all being selfish and unkind.

It's a good day. It's gone from bad to worse in our flesh, but better to best with the Lord.
