This is the Day that the Lord Has Made

Ella Grace's favorite song is "This is the Day." She sings it all the time. I get tickled when she sings it loudly in the store or in the car in her very own language. A few days ago, I woke up and I was NOT rejoicing in the day that the Lord had made. So I started singing it as I was getting Miriam a bottle, and KNOWING good and well that I had to snap out of it before my day went any further and before Gabe was making his way into the kitchen. Miriam and I went to get Ella Grace and we sang it to her and she joined right in as she popped out of bed. " Mom, I love "This is the Day!" Before too long, Gabe was chiming right in and we were one excited family, singing and thanking the Lord for His new day He made for us. How could I not rejoice in it????? It was a sweet way to start the day.

Guess what our verse for that day? Psalm 118:24! This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

This verse should be our new response anytime we ask each other "how was your day?" :-)

How can we ever complain about a single day when we have this verse? My kids and I have to sing this song often as well. No matter what our day looks like, we should rejoice and be glad in it! Thank you for the sweet reminder.
