Fret Not

I read Psalm 37 this morning and meditated on verses 3-8. Here is is.
3 Trust in the LORD and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

4 Delight yourself in the LORD
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5 Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:

6 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.

7 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when men succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.

8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
do not fret—it leads only to evil.

I wrote in my journal this morning a few key words to help me hide this scripture in my heart.
1. Trust 2. Dwell 3. Delight 4. Commit 5. Trust ( again!) 6. Be still 7. Wait Patiently for God 8. Refrain from anger 9. Do not fret
It seems to me that each of these commands are building blocks for the next. If my trust is in God and nothing else, then I will stay focused on Him and dwell in Him, causing me to be delighted in Him and filled to the brim with His joy and His peace. Once I am delighting in Him, it's natural to be committed to Him and His ways because my mind and heart are in sync with His. Then the Scripture says again in that same verse to trust Him!!! Isnt that the key? Then, being still and waiting patiently for Him follow-- I had to really think on that because when I am anxious or worried, it's hard to be still and wait patiently for God. If I obey this command, then truly I will refrain from anger and not fret. I can then rest in the Lord.
