Change

"Mom!!! Hurry! Come look!"

I race downstairs and see what's going on. All three are standing by the opened door with hands reaching out.

"See??? Fall is here!"

Funny that my first thoughts are almost always of our outer layers. Our clothing. Out come the long- sleeves, and the task of changing out clothes. Flip-flops are put away and the boots come out. Pool bag goes into hiding and big thick layers come out. Then, I think of other seasonal things like hot apple cider, apple pies, leaf walks, football games, pumpkins, harvest basket on the table... signs of a new season.

Embracing the fact that as the seasons change, I am also changing. I love that God does not keep me where I am. This season, I want to re-focus my gaze on the inward changes that God has. Thank You Lord for the season of the harvest. I welcome all Your changes in me.
