Vacation Expectations

I'm on vacation!

We jumped in the car to join Gabe on A TDY to SC... our home! It was a whirlwind and we are finally getting settled over here in SC. It's so good to be home. We drove, I mean HAULED across country to get here in time for Gabe to be there on time. We've been exhausted but God has graciously given us sleep the past few nights.

I've been thinking about my attitude-- especially on vacation. I've pin pointed something.

Selfish.

I've had my eyes on me.

I need to be more SELFLESS. FULL OF CHRIST. OTHERS FOCUSED.
I want to SERVE NOT BE SERVED.

Being "on vacation" is a chance for me to put this into practice. I am excited about how God will help me do this. Today I am especially excited because I was able to get up early and read my bible. I'm hanging on to these words:

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men... It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23, 24

Gotta run. Children up.

this is such an interesting look at vacation for me, because I have told myself I will never travel with children who are younger than 7 years of age! And now I know why. My idea of vacation is really a self-centered one. I want to be able to focus on my wants during a vacation, and not the time table of a little one. Thanks for posting this. How did your little one do?
