Military Life

I never thought I would be a military wife. But God chose me to be one. Life in the military is always an adventure. We never feel completely settled because we know that a move is ( more than likely) always ahead. When Gabe and I first married, neither of us had any idea what life in the military would be like. Now, we live it, breathe it. I find that we live in so much of the unknown, like when we will move, where will we move, for how long, finding a church, finding friends, etc. We have always loved where God has moved us. Even when we moved to New Mexico ( the place of dread on the military radar) it became our home and our joy for 5 years. When we ended up here in the Nation’s Capital for almost two years, we were excited to see how God has truly placed such blessings in front of us.. a home that is 8 minutes from our church we love and a wonderful Homeschool program and sweet friends, Speech Therapy 5 minutes from the Commissary ( military grocery store), 10 minutes from swimming and gymnastics which have been so nice for friendships and exercise. This a great place for a family.

Yesterday Gabe and I went to DC all day and covered miles of all the sights and both felt "proud to be an America." As I walked, I was reminded of his commitment to serve his country and how glad I am that he chose me as his wife to serve alongside of him, especially in the unknown times. We were the cheesy tourists taking pictures by every monument enjoying every moment. We reminisced on his military career and talked about the possibilities of the future.

As we start to consider what's next, there is one thing I do know and that is that my Lord is to be trusted and He is here, and He is there wherever we are going next. He is JEHOVAH-ROHI (Psalm 23:1) meaning "The Lord my shepherd" Who leads and guides us in our next duty station and all that encompasses that. He is JEHOVAH-SHAMMAH (Ezekiel 48:35) meaning "The Lord who is present." He is in it ALL and we never have to fear the unknown. Thank You Lord for choosing Gabe for serving You in the military. Thank You for choosing me to be his wife. Thank You for growing us as a military family for Your glory.
