Thine Be the Glory
Edmond Burdry, 1884
Thine be the glory, risen, conqu’ring Son;
Endless is the victory, Thou o’er death hast won;
Angels in bright raiment rolled the stone away,
Kept the folded grave clothes where Thy body lay.
Refrain
Thine be the glory, risen conqu’ring Son,
Endless is the vict’ry, Thou o’er death hast won.
Lo! Jesus meets us, risen from the tomb;
Lovingly He greets us, scatters fear and gloom;
Let the church with gladness, hymns of triumph sing;
For her Lord now liveth, death hath lost its sting.
Refrain
No more we doubt Thee, glorious Prince of life;
Life is naught without Thee; aid us in our strife;
Make us more than conqu’rors, through Thy deathless love:
Bring us safe through Jordan with Thy power and love.
We have there great little books called Hymns for A Kids Heart ( Focus on the Family) by Bobbie Wolgemuth and Joni Eareckson Tada. There are ( I think) four volumes. I love it because some of the hymns have the story that inspired the song and some of the hymns have a fun story that goes along with it. Each one also has a verse and a prayer that ties it all together. There are CDs that come along with the books as well. This is our song for the past week and will be for this next one as well. As the book says, "It will feed your child's soul." I agree completely!
