Ella Grace and Miriam were playing with musical instruments on the floor this morning. Ella Grace was showing her sister the xylophone that a friend had accidentally broken last year.
"I'm so mad at your friend, Miriam. She broke our xylophone."
"It was accident," stated Miriam.
I piped in, "Remember we forgave your friend. Do you remember forgiving her for that?"
Ella Grace boldly exclaimed, " I am still mad."
I turned the water off and went to them. I knew God had given me this sweet opportunity to share His love and forgiveness with them.
“Jesus loves us to much that when He forgives us He doesn't remember our sins any more. We are to do the same when we forgive others."
Then I read to them Isaiah 43:25... "I, I am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake, and I will not remember your sins."
I got our dry erase board and we talked about sins that we have all done ( this was real fun!) and then I drew a little picture of what they said. I started.
Here is a picture of Mommy getting angry and yelling, rather than having a gentle, quiet spirit.
“Ewwwww.. It’s not fun to sin, Mom. You look sad.”
“Yes, I am and we are never happy when we sin against God.”
“Now look what the Bible says Jesus does when we confess our sins and are really sorry for what we did. He WIPES IT AWAY!!! HE FORGIVES US! YAY! Now I am happy,” I said drawing a smiley face.
We sat for 20 minutes drawing pictures and "let Jesus wipe away our sins."
Nothing like the blood of Jesus.
