Bearing Much Fruit

Outside our house is a big south western, desert-y looking tree. It grows these giant pea- pods. Most of the peas we have found are the ones that have turned yellow and have dried up. The girls like to collect them and shake them from time to time. Since it's been raining alot, the tree is green and covered in huge green peas. So today when we were walking I showed them the difference between the green ones attached to the vine( "full of life", I explained) and the withered ones that had fallen on the ground ( "withered, life-less and not attached to the vine")I told them that the vine sustains them and helps them grow. If there was no tree, there would be no vine, no 6peas. I laughed to myself becuase I was grateful God had prompted me to share Jesus.

See the ones fallen on the ground? The ones with no life that are dried up? That's like a person who does not know Jesus. She can't do anything. The Bible tells us that apart from Jesus we can do NOTHING. BUT, if we remain in Jesus and walk with Him trusting Him and obeying Him, then the Bible tells us that we will bear much fruit- (do great things for Him) but most importantly, God is glorified in our lives.

And, look at that dried up one. The withered one. It's dead. We don't want to be like that. We want to grow and do great things for God. He tells us that we are to go and bear fruit- fruit that will last, not wither up and thrown out. Daddy and Mommy want you girls to bear much fruit for Jesus. I am praying that one day you will live for Him and follow Him with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.

I am sure they didn't get the whole thing. But, they listened. The Word was planted and I trust it went forth. I am so thankful that God encouraged me today with this little life lesson.

I AM THE VINE; YOU ARE THE BRANCHES. IF A MAN REMAINS IN ME AND I IN HIM, HE WILL BEAR MUCH FRUIT; APART FROM ME YOU CAN DO NOTHING. John 15:5

Amen, sister! I'm so thankful for your encouragement to daily surrender everything to our Creator. God is changing those little girls through your diligent seeking of Him. :0)
