Great is Thy Faithfulness

I have decided that being tired and weary is just what I must endure for awhile. Mostly, I can usually deal with it, but today I have had a horrendous time pulling myself together. I couldn't even pinpoint why I was crying, no, bawling! I am rarely this weary, but I am there. After hearing my little one several times in one night and awake at 5:30, it just boils down to desperately needing the Lord to give me some hope in such a desperate situation when I literally can't even put one foot in front of the other or think coherently.

I took Miriam out at sun rise and sat outside to watch the birds. As she waved to them, I was in awe of the beautiful morning and stillness, the hummingbirds flying by, and the smell of a new day. We just sat and watched and I know that God gave me hope in the midst of trouble. I began singing Great is Thy Faithfulness. I kept singing it and Miriam enjoyed it and started yawning... so I went to put her to sleep. I decided, with God's help, to put an end to this misery and delight in My Lord and His faithfulness... knowing this day will be one of peace and joy. I am SO GLAD His mercies are new every morning. I saw it first hand. Thank You Lord for continuing to transform this broken vessel for Your glory. Thank You for picking up my pieces and allowing me to start fresh and new again. Thank You that You fail not and Your compassion toward me is so great I can’t even wrap my mind around it.

Side note: After writing this, I don’t feel as weary. God is good. Now, off to a new day. 

Great is Thy Faithfulness

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
there is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
as Thou hast been Thou forever will be. Refrain:

Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
all I have needed thy hand hath provided;
great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
sun, moon and stars in their courses above
join with all nature in manifold witness
to Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love. Refrain

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside! Refrain
